'My garden is too small to do anything with'
Size does not matter - it's what you do with it that counts! In my eyes all gardens are of equal value whatever their size. Whether you have a small backyard or several acres - one can be as beautiful as the other and both can incorporate the many elements which make up a garden of interest and pleasure for your family and friends.
'Garden Design sounds like an expensive service. I'm not sure if we can afford it.'
From the beginning I will be completely open about what sort of costs are involved. I work on a hourly rate and there will be no hidden costs. It will be useful if I have some idea of any budget you might have set aside for such a job and I will do my best to work within that.
'What if I decide halfway through that I don't want to go ahead?'
There are two stages where you are free to opt out. Firstly, after the free visit and consultation where you will have incurred no costs at all. Secondly, after plans are drawn up. You will be only be billed for the costs to produce the initial plans. But of course at that stage you have valuable plans and information to go away with.
'Will I be able to look after the garden we create?'
My whole ethos is to create gardens that require the minimum amount of time to maintain. It is not practical nowadays to create intricate and high maintenance gardens when often only one person in a family is responsible for their upkeep. I therefore design a garden around your lifestyle and gardening needs paying great attention to ease of maintenance.
The process
• Free visit and consultation ( no obligation whatsoever).
• Detailed discussion of your gardening needs and desires.
• I'll put your thoughts and ideas down on paper (you may only wish to go as far as this).
• If you decide to continue we'll have further discussions and garden walks to ensure we're on the same page.
• After reaching a general consensus, I will revise plans as necessary.
• Together with a team of professional landscape gardeners, I will implement the agreed plans.
